Overcoming Giants

By: Davies Hood, Induron President

I remember being both moved and inspired by this full-page advertisement for Maserati in USA Today a few years ago on the Monday after the Super Bowl. The Patriots won… but that’s not this story. The ad copy read Continue reading Overcoming Giants

It’s Time to Re-Think Zinc

By: Andy Odorzynski, Induron National Sales Manager

Ceramic epoxy technology has become a staple throughout the United States for the care of water and wastewater assets. Treatment plants, distribution pipelines and storage tanks have all benefited from the unmatched performance of Induron’s thick-film ceramic epoxy products. While these linings can be applied direct to metal, they are often paired with zinc-rich primers, both in the field and in shop environments. With the introduction of Induron’s new CeramaPrime thin-film ceramic epoxy primer, asset owners, contractors and specifying engineers are beginning to “rethink zinc” as the go-to priming option. Seeking Standardization in Coating Specifications for Wastewater Projects

By: Andy Odorzynski, Induron Sales Representative

This article was originally published in the September 2017 issue of the Journal of Protective Coatings & Linings.

As a technical sales representative for a paint manufacturing firm, I have the opportunity to work with specifying engineers and facility owners of projects spanning many different industries. Few industries present the same level of challenges in coatings specification development that one encounters in the wastewater marketplace. Outside of a few firms with industry expertise, specifying engineers tend to rely entirely on paint manufacturers to select coatings for their wastewater specifications. This has created an environment where specifications vary wildly. This article will discuss how we as coatings professionals can better support the specifying engineers with whom we work to bring about some consistency and guidance to the development of wastewater specifications. How the Theory of Constraints Impacts Industrial Coatings

Not the first sentence you expected to read in an article about industrial coatings, right? Well, bear with me, and I’ll explain how Induron helps our clients see the intersection of these two topics. Continue reading How the Theory of Constraints Impacts Industrial Coatings

Induron Sales Strategy Meeting: Good People with Great Ideas

By: Davies Hood, Induron President

Last week I had the opportunity to host a small group of Induron’s Sales Team at our corporate Headquarters here in Birmingham, AL. What started out as an opportunity for a couple of our sales team members to attend the Sales Bootcamp at Samford University’s Brock School of Business evolved into a two-day meeting complete with product application demonstrations, new Market Presentations (including one by a key customer!), good southern BBQ, a Sales Team Strategy meeting that included a SWOT analysis and a homemade dinner on the back porch of our EVP’s house. I considered the entire meeting a 10 out of 10 in terms of quality of time spent between sales training, hands-on product demonstration, long-term strategy and good ol’ fashioned fun (team building). I wasn’t the only one who thought the meeting was a success and time well spent. Our key customer who presented to the team even asked for some of the Saw’s BBQ Sauce to be included with his next paint shipment! See a few other comments below from some of the attendees:

Induron’s Annual Sales Meeting: A Good Time with Great People

By: Davies Hood, Induron President

Last week I had the pleasure of hosting the Induron Sales Team at our annual Sales Meeting. This year’s event was held at the beautiful Pursell Farms near Childersburg, AL. Our Team spent two nights together under one roof at the “Man’s World-esque” Parker Lodge. I describe this lodge as ‘Man’s World’ because of the Mountain Lodge décor, which includes a Moose-Head above the mantel, a game room complete with billiard, ping-pong and foosball tables, a patio with a fire pit and cigar ashtray overlooking the 17th green, a large dining area where we enjoyed a filet mignon prepared in-house, AND a modern meeting room featuring leather chairs and two entire walls of windows as well as modern A/V!
