Protect Your Grid: The New Grid Will Not Work Without the Old

By: Kendall Smith, Induron Power Market Manager

I recently had the opportunity to attend Global Transmission Report’s 2nd annual conference on Transmission Infrastructure U.S. hosted in Washington D.C. The objective of the conference was to review the policies, present opportunities, and evaluate technologies and financing options for advancing the build-out of the much-needed transmission infrastructure in our country. The Problem of the Aging Infrastructure

The Problem with Aging InfrastructureAging infrastructure is prevalent throughout the United States. In fact, the American Society of Civil Engineers gave America’s infrastructure a C- in its most recent Report Card. Yikes! This is a problem we cannot continue to ignore, and the recently passed $1 Trillion Infrastructure Bill is a step in the right direction.  Continue reading The Problem of the Aging Infrastructure

Induron’s Ceramic Epoxies Withstand the Test of Time

By: Linc York, Induron Sales Representative

We’ve all heard that doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. For decades, the popular way to protect structures immersed in or subject to aggressive environments has been to apply three coats of a “high build” epoxy at approximately 15 mils. This approach works adequately, but could there be a better, less-costly way to achieve superior results? What if you could provide enhanced corrosion resistance for less cost while saving time and applying fewer coats to achieve a higher dry film thickness? Continue reading Induron’s Ceramic Epoxies Withstand the Test of Time

No More Clean Water?

clean waterBy Davies Hood, Induron President

Usually, unless a water main breaks or a street caves in, most people forget about or ignore the invisible infrastructure that is slowly crumbling under our own feet. But we don’t think twice when we flush the toilet or fill a glass of water from the kitchen sink because clean, safe water has been available in the U.S. for so long. Help Induron Coatings Celebrate Infrastructure Week!

By Davies Hood, Induron President

The buzz might not be as loud as that surrounding the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots and their whole “Deflate-Gate” fiasco. Heck, it’s not as emotionally charged as some of the other recent headlines that involve the enactment of a city wide curfew, but our nation’s infrastructure is it something that we as a nation need to pay close attention too. Infrastructure Week is this week, and it’s the perfect time to learn more about the current state of things. Continue reading Help Induron Coatings Celebrate Infrastructure Week!

Ignoring Infrastructure: The Future is Here

In a world that is controlled by budgets, needs often have to be prioritized and sometimes forgotten. Long-term corrosion needs of our nation’s infrastructure, such as water tanks, bridges, electrical transmission towers, power poles, waste water treatment plants and more are being ignored far too often. In this four-part series, we talk about why we think failing infrastructure should be at the top of the list and explore what we can do about it.

By Linc York

I recently read an article that stated that the federal government estimates it will cost more than $600 billion over the next 20 years to repair the water and sewer systems in the United States. My first thought was the enormity of the expected costs. Naturally, my second thought is that government estimates are predictably wrong and most often they are vastly underestimated. So what are we to do? Can these monies be spent wisely? Continue reading Ignoring Infrastructure: The Future is Here
