Even though it was a few weeks ago, we are all still talking about how great our company year-end Christmas party was. We had a great year that brought about great progress, like the opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for our new state-of-the-art Customer Service Center and finished goods warehouse. To celebrate this expansion, that’s where we decided to hold the party.
In years past, our holiday parties have been a little more low-key with mostly employees only in attendance. But this year we wanted to invite spouses since we see them as part of the Induron family too. The ability to support our spouses and families is a huge part of what we’re really working for every day.
We were thrilled to have 100% participation. It was the first time that we have had every single employee in the same room in many years. We also had members of our sales team come from eight different states, with one rep coming all the way from Wisconsin. Heck, we even had five retirees show up!
At the party, announced the winner of our Induron Safety Award, and we also celebrated the retirement of long-time employee, Willie Brown. To help Willie celebrate his 42 year career coming to a close, 21 members of his extended family joined our celebration! In addition to being recognized by the company and his family, Willie’s co-workers in the Operations Department went in together and gave Willie a new fishing rod and reel so that he would think of them while pursuing his new (a)vocation — fishing!
Right now, I think the company culture at Induron is as good as it’s ever been or better. But seeing all of these employees, spouses and retirees together really showed me that it’s always been pretty darn good. We can only strive to make it even better in the years to come.
This new, inclusive way to celebrate Christmas and the past year with ALL employees, spouses and local retirees will immediately become a new tradition for this 66 year old family business.
