We’re excited to share that we have been recognized with the Innovation Award in the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2026 Leadership in Manufacturing Awards.
For us, innovation isn’t just a buzzword—it’s how we approach every challenge our customers bring to the table. Whether it’s extending the life of critical infrastructure, simplifying application in the field, or helping crews work more efficiently, our goal is always the same: solve real problems with practical, high-performance coatings solutions.
Innovation That Starts in the Field
A lot of our best ideas come straight from the field. We listen to contractors, engineers, and asset owners, then get to work developing products that make their jobs easier and their results better.
Over the past few years, that mindset has led to the development of three key products: Perma-Clean 100 SL, Mortarchem, and Novasafe. Each one was designed to improve performance, streamline application, and deliver long-term value where it matters most on real projects.
Perma-Clean 100 SL: Flexibility Without Compromise
With Perma-Clean 100 SL, we set out to remove one of the biggest barriers in high-performance coatings: complicated plural application equipment.
This next-generation ceramic epoxy lining delivers the same thick-film protection you’d expect from a traditional high-build system but without the need for plural-component spray equipment. That means more flexibility for contractors and fewer limitations in the field.
What makes it even more versatile is its formulation. Both our plural-applied and single-leg versions share the same A-side epoxy, so applicators can simply choose the B-side catalyst that fits their preferred method. No trade-offs—just consistent chemical resistance, film build, and long-term performance.
It’s certified to NSF 61/600 and meets AWWA D102 standards, but just as importantly, it’s easier to work with. The extended reaction time gives crews more control, helping reduce waste and avoid unnecessary downtime.
Mortarchem: Fixing the Foundation
We also took a hard look at something many people overlook: surface prep.
Traditional cementitious epoxy mortars can be tough to work with and inconsistent in performance. That’s where Mortarchem comes in. We designed it to simplify the repair and resurfacing process for concrete in demanding environments like manholes, treatment plants, and wastewater facilities.
Mortarchem offers strong adhesion, excellent impact resistance, and improved workability whether it’s applied by trowel or spray. It fills voids, smooths surfaces, and creates a solid foundation for the coatings that follow.
And because it’s waterborne and contains zero Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs), it’s a safer, more environmentally responsible option without sacrificing durability.
Novasafe: Big Protection, Less Complexity
Then there’s Novasafe, one of the most exciting innovations we’ve brought to market.
Designed for some of the harshest environments in water and wastewater treatment, Novasafe is a ceramic-filled novolac epoxy that delivers serious protection—without the complexity of traditional systems.
Where many coatings rely on thick, multi-coat applications, Novasafe achieves comparable (and often better) performance at around 80 mils. It’s not a shop-only, snap-cure product—it’s built for real-world, in-the-field application.
With a long pot life and single-leg application, it’s easier to apply, reduces labor demands, and helps crews move faster. At the same time, its unique resin and filler system provides outstanding resistance to corrosion and erosion.
The result? Fewer coats, less material, and longer-lasting protection.

Why It Matters
At the end of the day, innovation only matters if it makes a difference. For our customers, that means:
- Lower application costs
- Less downtime
- Safer working conditions
- Longer service life for critical assets
These aren’t just product improvements but real-world benefits that help projects run smoother and infrastructure last longer.
Looking Ahead
Being recognized by the Birmingham Business Journal is an honor, and we’re proud of what our team has accomplished. But more than anything, it reinforces what drives us every day: finding better ways to protect the assets people depend on.
We’re not done yet. As challenges in water, wastewater, and industrial environments continue to evolve, we’ll keep doing what we’ve always done—listening, problem-solving, and pushing the industry forward.
Thanks to our team, our partners, and our customers for being part of that journey! Here’s to more innovation to come!
