By: Ben Rowland, Induron T&D Consulting/Sales
Induron recently held a webinar to discuss the effects of corrosion on the country’s electrical grid and the role of coatings in combatting these threats. Taking it a step further, the panel also illustrated the long term benefits of capitalizing such projects to effectively extend the life of electrical T&D infrastructure.
About the webinar
Induron’s National Sales Manager, Andy Odorzynski, led the webinar, and he was joined by some of our most valued partners in the industry. Michael Briones represented Pacific Gas & Electric, who has been instrumental in putting together a comprehensive assessment and corrosion mitigation plan for one of the largest electric utilities in the country. Kevin Niles from Osmose, one of the most prominent contractors currently performing such projects both in the United States and abroad, rounded out the panel. Facilitated by the Marcus Evans Group, an organization specializing in B2B connections, the webinar was well attended by a broad spectrum of industry owners and stakeholders.
Through this conversation, insights were offered on topics such as the need for proactive management of corrosion, the cost efficacy of such programs, the proper balance of budgets to fund new transmission structures vs. maintenance of current assets and the regulatory changes that make this all more attainable.
