Back in the fall of 2019, I had the privilege of going to India to represent Induron Protective Coatings in a case study with Sterlite Power of India. The case study required the application of Induron’s Induraguard 9200 on a 40+ year old power transmission tower in the New Delhi area.
To achieve this study, the electrical asset was cleaned of all dirt and pollution according to SP-1 and SP-2 cleanliness standards. Once the minimal surface preparation was complete, we applied a coat Induron P-30 primer at 2.0 to 3.0 mils and a final topcoat of Induraguard 9200 at 10 to 12 mils.
About one year later, I received photos from our partner at Sterlite Smruti Mohapatra. I must say the photos showed great results given the climate conditions of India. The weather in India swings from extreme hot dry seasons to monsoons. However, Induron’s Induraguard 9200 showed little-to-no wear from the extreme environmental conditions of India.
Induron’s Induraguard 9200 is the market leader for protecting weathered galvanized towers, in most cases it’s a one coat solution to extend the life of electrical assets to at least 20 years.
At Induron, we are helping the electrical community around the world to manage corrosion on its assets, which ensures electrical service to its end users. Corrosion never sleeps!
