By: Jeff White, Induron Executive Vice President
Continuing with the recent sports analogies in our Induron blogs, let’s take a moment to focus on a concept every winning team needs: a player’s coach. This is the kind of leader who brings out the best in their team, not by commanding from the sidelines, but by being right there with them—guiding, encouraging, and leading by example.
For us at Induron, that coach has been Mike Nelms, our plant manager for over 15 years, who recently retired at the end of the year. Mike embodied what it means to be a true leader—someone who not only understands the game but also knows how to inspire his team to play it better.
A Legacy of Leadership and Improvement
Mike’s impact on Induron can’t be overstated. Nearly every aspect of our operations improved during his tenure:
- Multiple safety excellence awards that reflect a culture of accountability and care.
- Significant improvements in our cycle counts, a key measure of quality and efficiency.
- Continued success in our ISO 9001 certification program.
- Employee training and relations that strengthened our team from the ground up.
And here’s the real testament to his leadership: with the exception of one long-standing team member, Mike hired every paintmaker we have today. His influence built not just a stronger operation, but a tight-knit team that shares a commitment to excellence and mutual respect.
If you asked Mike about his achievements, he would humbly say, “It’s because of the guys.” And while that’s true, every great team needs a leader—someone to set the standard, motivate others, and drive continuous improvement. Mike has been exactly that, and his leadership, insight, and friendship will be missed more than words can express.
A New Chapter: Welcoming Aaron Williams
As we turn the page, we’re excited to welcome Aaron Williams as Induron’s new plant manager. Aaron brings a wealth of experience in plant management and concrete construction, making him a perfect fit for our operations.
We were fortunate to have a three-month transition period, during which Aaron worked closely with Mike to learn our systems, processes, and the leadership style that made Mike so effective. Even in a short time, Aaron has already introduced new ideas and fresh perspectives, setting the stage for continued growth and improvement.
We’re confident that under Aaron’s leadership, our manufacturing operations will continue to thrive—and perhaps reach even greater heights.
A Well-Earned Retirement
As Mike steps into retirement, we wish him nothing but the best. His contributions have left a lasting legacy at Induron, and we hope his next chapter is filled with as much success and joy as his time here brought us.
Here’s to a well-deserved retirement, Mike—you’ve earned every moment. And to Aaron, welcome aboard—we’re excited to see where your leadership takes us next.
