Induron Goes Through Good Times and Expands

By David Hood, Induron President

In 1981, this company (then known as Indurall Coatings, Inc.) was still suffering from the economic gyrations caused by massive inflation. We sold off a building and land to raise cash. I know this because I did it.

In 2012, we bought it back for twice the price.

Induron has experienced strong growth since the 2008 economic collapse and needed to expand its production and warehouse space. Our back-door neighbor has also grown and needed more space. We were lucky enough to come together to satisfy both our needs. Induron is now moving into an extra 17,500 square feet of warehouse space and 1,500 square feet of office space.

In order to make this new space “right” for the future, we added light, insulation, a sprinkler system, new heating and ventilation, ADA compliance and new freight doors. We also connected the new space to our current space.

This addition allows us to expand production by about 50% in terms of square footage into the space previously dedicated to finished goods and shipping. This new production space has much higher ceilings than our older production space, which will allow us to use bigger equipment and make larger batches of paint. It will allow us to grow by a factor of about 3 times our current capacity.

As with almost every company that has lasted 66 years, we have had good times and “not so good” times. Thanks to dedicated employees and great customers, this is one of those good times.

Founded in 1947, Induron manufactures high performance coatings that serve a range of industrial applications, including the wastewater, transmission and distribution and groundwater storage industries. Learn more about us at www.Induron.com.
